Courtenay HR and Personnel Today team up again for the second Best Places to Work in HR awards.

Following on from last years successful survey and awards evening, Courtenay HR and Personnel Today have teamed up again to run this successful initiative for the second year.  a first in the hr field, this innovative initiative gives you the chance to put your organisation and hr team up there with the best by rating your hr function and its leader.

We created this initiative as an opportunity for the people on the ground - the HR team themselves - to rate their organisation by its reputation on the basis of its buy in to HR.  This is a unique opportunity for the HR community to have their say and raise the profile of those organisations that really do value the contribution made by the HR function.

To take part in our unique survey, please CLICK HERE to complete the online questionnaire.  The results will be compiled by an independent research company and will culminate in an awards ceremony in the autumn.

As we look ahead to this year's awards, what did we learn about being a best place last year?  Well, for many, having extensive resources, international development opportunities and a large budget were clearly NOT key if the success of the small organisations which peppered the winners list last year - Broadway housing being a case in point - is anything to go by.  A sense of teamwork, a great leader and a passion for what you are doing seemed much higher on the agenda.

From last year's results it was clear that some of the large organisations were in that bracket too with McDonald's winning the best large HR department and Lloyds TSB also featuring in the shortlists. with the introduction of new separate categories this year for large and public sector organisations we hope to see the same themes highlighted in these organisations too.

So, whatever type of organisation you work in, large or small, public or private, please participate.  Your opinion counts.  Recognising your organisations greatness in people management terms should not be a nice to have, it should be an absolute business priority.
